BWR Facilities and Location
The Benevolent Warrior Ranch is a 23-acre horse ranch on the Cloverland Prairie 14 miles south of the town of Asotin, Washington. The remote location in SE Washington State offers incredible mountain views, is quiet, and peaceful, making it an ideal location for equine assisted mental health therapy.
The ranch was established by Matthew and Lacy in 2022, and has designated acreage for hay production, pasture areas, riding areas, a round-pen, an obstacle course, and an open-arena for concentrated training. The ranch is in a prime location for easy access to trail rides into the Blue Mountains, WDFW Public Lands, or leisurely rides through rolling farmland.
The founders live onsite, and currently do not offer over-night stays for veterans. Due to the remote location, the Benevolent Warrior Ranch has future goals of establishing a small living quarters on site to house veterans who would benefit from staying overnight rather than commuting between therapy sessions. Repeated interactions with equine therapy will support the veteran’s connections with horses, imprint program values, and help the veteran build stronger coping skills to use in daily situations.
