What is a "Capital Campaign," and why is Benevolent Warrior Ranch operating one?
A "capital campaign" refers to a focused fundraising effort aimed at raising a significant amount of money within a specific timeframe to fund a major project, like building a new facility or purchasing essential equipment. The BWR capital campaign for the "Warrior Barn and Stable Facility" is a targeted fundraising strategy compared to regular annual giving campaigns. Capital campaigns need specific goals and objectives, rely on larger donations, and require intensive planning to identify the feasibility and positive effects of the project.
The BWR Capital Campaign for the "Warrior Barn and Stables" is designed to build necessary structures and provide relevant equipment to successfully support our mission on a sustainable basis. The barn structure will serve two purposes in supporting our mission, one is to provide shelter for our equine therapists during inclement weather, and the other is a small indoor riding area for equine therapy sessions. The sheltered riding area will allow veterans to comfortably participate in therapy sessions despite days of blistering heat, or bitter cold. This greatly improves the experience, and also allows our program to offer equine therapy sessions year round, safely. This advances our Benevolent Warrior Ranch Mission.
Benevolent Warrior Ranch is a registered 501(c) (3) non-profit organization in Asotin Washington providing equine therapy exclusively for United States Military Veterans and Active-Duty Military Personnel of ALL Branches of the service.

***The following photos on our website are examples of barns and buildings similar to what we need, but the actual design will be completed with local contractors prior to construction.
Intensive planning:
Research has been conducted regarding potential designs of the Warrior Barn and Stable, the location has been selected, and initial quotes have been sought to determine feasibility and potential benefits of this structure. To make this project as feasible as possible, modest designs without a bunch of "bells and whistles" were chosen to reduce costs. We have also selected designs which offer as much functionality as possible with stables and tack storage. We have studied the permitting process and spoke with the county to ensure we would be in compliance with local building codes when the facility is ready for construction. Veterans-owned businesses and contractors will be given preference in constructing this project.
How does this Warrior Barn and Stable facility integrate with future BWR facilities and the mission of BWR?
The Warrior Barn and Stable facility will compliment the future full-size covered "Arena of Valor" and will provide a small indoor area for veterans to experience equine therapy while we slowly grow our capacity and increase funding to build a larger more functional facility. Expanding our capacity and available facilities will make it possible to help more veterans in need regardless of weather conditions, while offering more diversity of equine training in our program.
Timeframe: The timeline for this campaign is to complete fundraising for the "Warrior Barn and Stable" by June 2025.
Large donations: This capital campaign, will rely heavily on large donations, but regardless of size, every donation to our veterans is deeply appreciated
